All party group on gas safety launched

Date: 21/12/01 Author:

AN All Party Group on as Safety will be launched on November 13, 2001 in the House of Commons.

All Party Groups are formed by members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords with a special interest in a particular subject area.

CORGI will work with the group, which will be made up of Members of Parliament (MPs) from all parties, to raise the profile of gas safety issues in Parliament and provide a forum for discussion. Topics for debate will focus on issues affecting the gas installation industry and may include skills shortages, landlord regulations and fuel poverty. Jon Trickett, who is MP for Hemsworth, will chair the group and, as a former gas installer, has a great deal of knowledge of the gas industry as well as a continuing interest in related issues.

“We are delighted to have this opportunity to work with John Trickett to establish this group. It will provide an important vehicle for highlighting and debating issues within the gas industry,” said CORGI Chief Executive Bob Henry.
