COMING SOON: new CORGI logo for installers

Date: 18/12/02 Author: Nicole Perry

IN the July/August issue of Gas Installer magazine (the publication sent to all CORGI registered operating centres), we reported on a major exercise CORGI was undertaking with regards to its visual identity.
The exercise sought and considered the views of many different groups, including registered installers and the public. The overall aim of the project was to ensure that the image and identity of CORGI is relevant to today’s business environment.

This exercise is now nearing completion, and the new year will see the introduction and rollout of new identities across all areas of CORGI’s business.

A new, cleaner, more professional, updated logo is being introduced for use by registered installers. This will be unveiled in the next issue of Gas
Installer (February 2003) and will be included on the new ID cards and registration certificates which
installers will receive when they renew their registration in the new year.

“Since our current identity has been around for over 10 years, we felt it was time to re-visit the logos used by CORGI and the way they are perceived by the public,” said CORGI’s Public Relations Manager Nicole Perry. “Registered installers are qualified, trained professionals, and we need to ensure that the images they are given to use by CORGI accurately reflect that to the wider public’ .

The new logo will be unveiled in the February issue of Gas Installer, and the March issue will include more information for installers, including guidance on how to use the new logo and examples
of how it will look on vehicle signage and stationery.

“We will not be asking installers to move to the new identity immediately,” said Nicole. “The aim is for installers to move to the new logo as they replace stock, re-print headed paper or change vehicles.”
