IN the December/January issue of Gas Installer we reported that CORGI was preparing to unveil the results of a major rebranding exercise, which would include a new visual identity.
The exercise, which has taken over a year to complete, was aimed at not only creating some new logos, but also to enable CORGI to make a clearer distinction between the registration scheme and its other activities.
"Projecting a modern, professional image for installers was a primary objective of the rebranding exercise," said CORGI Public Relations Manager Nicole Perry.
"The old CORGI shield had been around for the past ten years, and even though there was a shield for registered installers, and a corporate one for CORGI, it still caused some confusion. Having two separate and distinct logos, one for registered installers (pictured above), and a corporate logo for CORGI, we think we’ve made the distinction clearer.
The new changes to the registered installer logo have been brought about after consultation with installers from around the country. During the rebranding exercise, installing businesses of various sizes were canvassed for their views. Most indicated that they didn’t want to see the familiar shield changed completely, but they did want to see a more modern, professional logo being developed. As a result, the new registered installer logo is cleaner and more modern in appearance, while still retaining much of what was recognisable in the old version.
CORGI and installers recognised that there was still a lot of value in the shield, and therefore wanted to retain the equity in it. The orange in the logo has been slightly amended to make it easier to reproduce, and the word CORGI is picked out clearly in white. The installer’s registration number will still appear beneath the shield, as it did before.
In the March issue of Gas Installer, we will be dealing with the new branding in detail – giving installers lots of advice on how to use it, and how to get the most out of it.
"We hope installers will look upon this as something positive. We know it will take time to bed in, but we would ask installers to consider using the new logo when they are printing new letterhead, or ordering new vehicle signage."
CORGI Direct is offering some great introductory offers on stationary and signage. Full details of these can be found in the March issue of Gas Installer.
