About ID cards

Always ask to see CORGI ID

All CORGI-registered installers must carry an ID card and have it available to show to you when they are working in your home. CORGI's message to gas consumers is to always ask to see your gas installer's CORGI ID before letting them into your home.

The card shows that the installer is competent to do the job and details the areas of gas work in which the installer is qualified. CORGI has introduced the card to provide consumers with a quick and easy way of checking that the installer is registered, as required by law, and is able to carry out the requested work.

The card contains a photograph of the operative, their employer's trading title and the CORGI-registered installer logo. The reverse of the card contains details of the different types of gas work the operative is competent to undertake.

To help keep your family safe when using gas appliances, ensure they are checked for safety annually and only employ a CORGI-registered installer.

If you are in doubt about the identity of a gas installer then you can check an Installer here on the website or call us on 0870 401 2300.
