The
registration year is from 1st April until the following 31st March.
Regardless of the time
of year you apply for registration, the first expiry date will be
the next 31st March. Once registered, businesses are required to
renew their registration each year prior to 1st April. Please refer
to the Scale of Charges data sheet issued with this booklet.
Under the Rules for Registration,
installers are required to notify CORGI of all installation and
exchanges of a gas appliance within a residential dwelling. Apart
from direct benefits to Gas Safety, this process will also help
Gas Registered Installers to comply with relevant Building Regulation
Requirements. For more Information on Building Regulations requirements,
see <Building Regulation Requirements> = Link
The cost of Registration
is £181 (+ 1 Operative) per annum (this includes the cost
of the annual inspection) with an additional cost of £55 per
additional operative.
Pre-Registration assessment
is charged at £200. This covers the cost of the CORGI inspectors
time and CORGI administration costs (including your Certificate
of Gas Registration and CORGI ID Card).
Building Regulations
Compliance for Part L(Heating Systems) and Parts of J (Gas Appliances)
Business who wish CORGI
to notify Local Building Control of work undertaken for Part L (Energy
Efficiency) and relevant Parts of J (Heat Producing Appliances)
on their behalf, are able to satisfy the requirement through their
Gas business registration by simply ‘Opting In' by contacting CORGI
Customer Services on 0870 401 2300. CORGI will then notify Local
Building Control on your behalf of the relevant work undertaken,
at no extra cost.
By ‘Opting in' to Part
J and Part L under the Gas Registration Scheme, work that is relevant
under Part J and Part L can be certified compliant with both Gas
and Building Regulations once it has been completed.
