Businesses or operatives (with or without relevant qualifications) will need to undergo an assessment in order to join the scheme.

Applications for assessment in order to join CORGI's Part P Self Certification Scheme will be dealt with strictly on a first come first served basis.

All installers wishing to join the CORGI Part P Self Certification Scheme must hold one of the qualifications recognised in order to join the CORGI Scheme by 1st April 2006.

Once registered on CORGI's Part P Self Certification Scheme, Installers will be subject to a risk based inspection.

The assessment will include both a practical and theoretical evaluation of up to a maximum of two competent electrical operatives registered under the business.
